Quick check-in so people know I haven't fallen off the planet!

Piles of documentation work at the day-job. How do they manage to time their peak periods of work for right before -- and during -- my scheduled leave??

An upcoming script read-through coming up on Wednesday night -- organizing the read-through was fairly easy, organizing the dinner beforehand was a challenge! (Cast with food allergies etc.)

Kate and I got out on Sunday night to Gallery Burlesque, to cheer on our dancer mate Venus Vamp! Twas an astonishing experience -- a burlesque show with more women than men in the audience, where the emcee was straight out of Dykes To Watch Out For, and with a tremendous sense of play rather than leering. And what a range of talent, skill, and sheer personality on display -- the dancers ranged from a clearly professional ballerina to a fire-eater, comedy to agit-prop, all shapes and sizes and styles. Very little that was deeply erotic (though a tall redhead called Rita Fontaine nearly melted us into a puddle), but a lot of stuff that was just plain gorgeous to watch. And the showstopper had to be one of the male acts, a gymnast who did a striptease while ten feet off the ground hanging from fabric ropes. While wearing a Tron costume. (Our jaws never left the floor... I swear by the end he could have had any guy or girl in the place!)

Still touching up the songs before coming Up Over. And one of the guys beta-testing my songs has just recorded his own synth-ballad cover version of "Until You See The Light", as a demo! Someone else thinks my songs are worth doing! My gast is truly flabbered...
