Generally splattered and low-energy at the moment. Spec script limps onwards; I know what I need to write, it's just turning the notes into coherent scenes which is taking too long.
Time Rift FX remastering continues slowly; I'm now at the stage where it takes several hours of fiddling with all the settings of a sophisticated editing-and-FX package to recreate the really cool look achieved by randomly wiggling one lever on a clapped-out noise-ridden old analog console in 1995. That freaky moment where the last bit of the Master that's visible as everything luma-key fades to white are his eyes? Try getting that a
second time. Also, the problem with stabilizing the slow-motion FX is that the picture judder was effectively concealing that in some shots the van clearly isn't moving at all. Time to try pasting in some sort of motion-blur moving background behind and around the characters, I guess. I smell lots of fiddly garbage mattes in my future, and it smells like, well, garbage...
