    Time Event
    10:18p
I'm trying to look back at 2007 and work out what it was I accomplished. I can't shake the soul-crunching feeling that, in most of the important things, I'm still almost exactly where I was a year ago today.

I'm at least 15 pounds lighter, and substantially more fit. I've put out my first book in two years, Nobody's Children. I'm barely any further than I was last year in my TV career, but I'm still inching in the right direction. I'm finally, finally getting Time Rift put on DVD (though feeling guilty about the sheer amount of my time it's taking up).

I got two good trips out of the year -- one up to Port Douglas, one back to the US -- into which I crammed as much human interaction as I could. I've renewed friendships with [info]lferion and [info]lynsaurus in particular, in huge and soul-filling ways. I've spent a good chunk of time online with [info]off_coloratura, and don't want to lose touch with her. On the downside, I've had even less of a social life than usual the other 47 weeks of the year, and emotionally I'm only slightly less fragile than I was when Kate was hideously depressed at the beginning of the year.

Work is... work. I stepped up to a big new opportunity (the SBR work), which I'm hoping will actually lead somewhere. They're now hoping that some time early in this year they'll get to the exciting new projects they first promised me would start some time early last year.

For this year? Three goals: see more people, do more writing, spend more and better time with Kate. I'm sure you can immediately see the problem between these three. In a broader sense? Kate and I both need to get our heads more settled, and fix the bad habits we're drifting into.

But all in all? I feel like the best thing I can do is view this year as a fresh start. Things have got to get better from here. Really, there's got to be a way.
